-Quote of the Day
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The quote of the day appears in this extract from a political column by Gail Collins: "The Democrats are only one seat away from taking control of Congress (the Senate). No wonder they are looking with intense interest every time a Republican from a state with a Democratic governor sneezes. The Republicans would have every right to be offended if their own majority leader had not playfully suggested that Hillary Clinton might be hit by lightning before she could take her seat (in the Senate). President Clinton has been telling people that he called Trent Lott to take exception to the lightning comment, and that Lott claimed it was taken out of context. Clinton expressed his doubts with a one-word rejoinder that we do not print in this newspaper."
(Back to Ben Boxer)
Which brings us to the quote of the day: I have heard elsewhere that Bill
Clinton's one-word rejoinder was, "Bullshit!
Dear List:
Everybody Try to solve this one(When asked this riddle, 80% of kindergarten kids got the answer, compared to 17% of Stanford University seniors.):
What is greater than God,
More evil than the devil,
The poor have it,
The rich need it,
And if you eat it, you'll die?
The answer to the riddle is nothing....
The answer is: Nothing.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos, the
Microsoft chairman said he would donate $100m, through his private
foundation.
The donation is intended to fund a four-year project taking a number of
vaccines from the development stage to human trials by the International
Aids Vaccine Initiative (IAVI).
At the summit, riot police have thwarted an attempt by several hundred
anti-capitalist demonstrators to disrupt the meeting.
Police used water cannon and moved forward with a line of armoured vehicles,
pushing the crowd away from the Congress Centre where the meeting was taking
place. There were no reports of any arrests.
Mr Gates said that donations like his were meant to correct the
"unbelievable market failure" of not developing a vaccine 20 years after the
first Aids cases emerged.
