-Picture of actually pregnant man (4)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The man is Taiwanese Mr. Lee Mingwei, who lives now in Manhattan. The
montage I have constructed is a composite of three pictures found on the Web
site http://malepregnancy.com
Thanks, Ben. This is indeed strange! But, with time and practice, it may become quite commonplace! Hmm, next time anyone talks about my weight, I'll say "I'm carrying triplets! Thanks for sending me the relevant information!
Hugs,
Thanks for the info and the pic. That boy (Mr. Lee Mingwei) is pretty. He
can bear my child any time he wishes.
Howdy all, I was just wondering..If this story is TRUE, why haven't any of the news agencies reported it? One would think that something of this magnitude would make headline news all over the world. I keep watching CNN for any kind of report, but, still, nothing... HMMMM...

Some of you have been wondering how this list is faring. The answer is: "It's a healthy baby." Now only three months old, we have a membership of seventeen hundred (1,700) gents from around the world -- with no serious arguments to date. Many have Profiles on-line http://www.boxersfoxes.com/Digests/Profiles/indexProfiles.html representing a sampling of 31 U.S. states, one U.S. possession, and 24 countries. Most DON'T have profiles, and insofar as I can determine, we may have members in a total of as many as 43 U.S. states, three U.S. possessions, and perhaps 40 countries on six continents. Oops! Make that all seven continents -- the youngster who writes good stories calls himself the Texas Penguin, but his stuff is so cool he must REALLY be from the South Pole, the southern end of the earth's axis of rotation, located on the seventh continent, Antarctica, where lots of polar bears live, which is very much to the taste of our Penguin, as he is to theirs. Uh-oh! (The other six continents are, of course, Europe and Asia -- sometimes spoken of as one because they share a single land mass known as Eurasia -- Africa, North America, South America and Australia. Greenland, often miscalled a continent, is actually the world's largest island.) I don't think we have any ladies -- strictly speaking, that is -- and certainly none from Venus. There may be a few men from Mars, named for the Roman god of war, judging from some of the bellicose correspondence I get back here behind the scenes, but I assure you there are far more pussycats than tigers roaming in our jungle. I get a lot more purring letters than I do ones that roar. The percentage of people posting on any e-mail list is always infinitely smaller than the total subscribership. Thank the divine powers for that! Imagine a thousand or fifteen hundred posts a day! The postings are usually contributed by a faithful few who seek to share, opine, and entertain. They are very welcome here, as are the class known in e-mail list circles as "lurkers." They comprise the readership or picture-lookers. Some are here for the text postings, some for the pictures only, some come on to get the password and them scram, some are here looking for love and friendship or just for something to do. Some are busy in their personal lives, and some aren't busy at all. We meet many needs. Each of us has his place. And I am glad you are here, each and every one of you. This is the Silverfoxes Club. You are in the Silverfoxes Clubhouse. You and these e-mails are what happens here. Enjoy!
Any questions, just ask the list. You will always get some answers --
hopefully, what you need to hear.

This, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing: Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record: "This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy, were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it. When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans. I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American lanes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times - and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets (in Canada), and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here. When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake. Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing (the recent election) with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that have gloated over the (election) problem."

Interesting that this article is doing the rounds, again. But it does contain some inaccuracies. (Article excerpts in italics.) America: The Good Neighbor. Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record: "This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth." Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. But in return we gave the US free land for bases in Europe and elsewhere. I think you'll find that the debts were repaid - hence the austerity in the UK during the 50's. When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it. Insulted - possibly. Swindled - only if you're in a tourist in the wrong place. When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. Actually it's not just the US that helps earthquake victims - there have been recent earthquakes in Afghanistan and Japan and floods in Bangladesh and Africa - the international community has pitched in to help in these instances. The UK has suffered $Bn's of dollars of damage from flooding in recent months - can we have some money?. For an example see http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/europe/9908/18/turkey.aid.01/ The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing bout the decadent, warmongering Americans. If you want to keep going back you can say the US and France poured the equivilent of millions of dollars into the development of the US in the first place. Please can we have the interest! I don't think the US is decadent (the Puritans were last people I would suggest to set up a colony - and you're still paying the penalty!) I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? Yup the Airbus and Concord and the Harrier Jump-Jet If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes? Wrong - see http://www.airbus.com/ "With more than 4,000 aircraft ordered by international customers, Airbus Industrie is an undisputed world leader in the civil air transport marketplace." Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? Um - perhaps becuase they have better things to spend their money on? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. and Hi-Fi and Cameras and Walkmans and PC's and Microchips and Automobiles and Mobile Phones and Games Consoles and TV's and Monitors.......... You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. ...and Manufacturing Systems and Computers and Mobile Phones and Drugs You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon ? not once, but several times - and safely home again. While this was a great achivement, you could argue that the only benefit the world saw from this program was the development of Teflon. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. One public scandal (whch was denied for months) does not mean there aren't 000's of others that never get aired. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of >them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here. ..apart from those that get to be president? However I have no problem with draft dodgrs as I think the US involvement in Vietnam was a huge mistake and unjustifiable - this is no disrespect to those who serverd there. When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. Is this a joke? Try comparing the pathetically under-utilised US railways with the efficient high speed networks all over Europe especially in France and Germany. The Brits built the Indian railways BTW. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. Becuase successive US governments have preferred you to go out and buy gas guzzling vehicles. In the early 1900's there were 000's of miles of train and trolley tracks but the motor manufactureres formed a company to buy them up and convert them to bus services. I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake. Help was offered but the earthquake was small as disasters go. Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those." Strange that a Canadian is defending the US - shame that so much of it is wrong. Stand proud, America! Yes but don't forget there is a big world out there This is one of the best editorials that I have ever read regarding the United States. It is nice that one man realizes it. I only wish that the rest of the world would realize it. We are always blamed for everything, and never even get a thank you for the things we do. Thanks, mostly. My $0.2 - yours may vary.
Pewit I think I once saw something somewhere about it being one of the many 'urban legends' that circulate for years or decades. Noone could actually authenticate the existence of the author.
It is also quite old. The Douglas DC 10 and Lockheed TriStar
have been out of production for at least two decades.
Excellent response from Pewit. I am also English, but live in San Francisco. Here is one that I rec'd from an American:
In my opinion, the reason we're such a "good Samaritan" to other
countries is because we want to control them by keeping them in our
debt. We've grown in imperialist, colonizing, exploitative greed since
Woodrow Wilson's presidency, and now, with the Soviet Union gone, our
government has free reign to carve up the rest of the world.
I don't want the federal government giving my income (in the form of
exorbitant taxes) to other countries, whether to kill their own citizens
who are trying to make a living raising coca (which mostly Americans
buy) or even to relocate refugees from floods or earthquakes. Those are
the responsibilities of their own governments and charities.
We've been trying to buy our "friends" for decades, and some of them are
quite aware of it and resent it - but continue to take the money. We've
propped up corrupt dictatorships and right-wing death squads to
"stabilize" (i.e., ensure a continued flow from) countries with natural
resources we covet.
The only reason Israel and the Palestinians continue to negotiate is to
get more money out of us. The longer it drags on, the more money we
give. If we stopped, there'd be peace in the Middle East within a week.
Clinton's attempt to "leave a legacy of peace" is costing us billions.
The Canadian's compliments may be well-intentioned but are grossly
uninformed and smack of right-wing jingoism.
I don't think they love God's gay children like
they love God's straight children, said the Rev.
Mel White, executive director of Soulforce, after
Vatican priests refused to bless the teddy bears
and toys 18 U.S. gay activists brought to give to
Italian orphans in Rome today. The Pope had
blessed tens of thousands of people and a variety
of items in St. Peter's Square less than two hours
before.
