After a long night of making love the young guy rolled over, pulled out a cigarette from his jeans and searched for his lighter. Unable to find it, he asked the girl if she had one at hand.

"There might be some matches in the top drawer," she replied.

He opened the drawer of the bedside table and found a box of matches setting neatly on top of a framed picture of another man. Naturally, the guy began to worry. "Is this your husband?" he inquired nervously.

"No, silly," she replied, snuggling up to him.

"Your boyfriend then?" he asked.

"No, not at all," she said, nibbling away at his ear.

"Well, who is he then?" demanded the bewildered guy.

Calmly, the girl replied, "That's me before the operation."

Tonka's post in response to my review of the film "Billy Elliot":

What an amazing write up over this brilliant film Ben. I come from that grim northern town where it was set, and I was about 16-17 years old when the miners strike was on, and I was just coming to terms with my sexuality.

When I went to see the film I cried about 6 times through it. (Up there you don't cry at films.) I was in bits. It was a very real movie for me, as I was brought up in the same atmosphere, it really plucked at my heart strings.

Thanks Ben for giving it a mention. I had a feeling it would not make it over too the states as a few people I know in London could not understand the accents.

I'm so very pleased you enjoyed it though, it really is a good portrayal of life in the North-East of England.

I showed them the proof.

Some were gay friends,
And some were not;
Their simple reaction,
"No, you're not!"

I told them I was gay,
They wanted to know more;
I told them I always was,
They wanted to know more.

I told them I liked older men,
They looked at me strangely;
They asked me, "30s?";
I looked at them strangely.

Hello Ben & List members,
This is probably very off topic but I do hope you'll let it get through. I just want to ask folks if they'd be so kind as to visit a web site and if they find that it is as disturbing as many of us think that they might be willing to help see that justice is done. I won't go into details because the web page does that better than I ever could. It concerns the case of three young men accused of murder in West Memphis, TN. Some of you may have seen the HBO documentary about this case that was aired several years ago, to date the three young men are still in prison and may still be executed for crimes that many of us feel they had nothing to do with.
